Vaccination

We vaccinate dogs against Canine Parvo, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Hepatitis & Para influenza. The vaccinations age given as a course at 8 & 10 weeks of age. After this only an annual booster is required.

We strongly recommend that if your dog is going into kennels that you also vaccinate for Kennel Cough.

More information on vaccination can be found at:

Worming

Worm every two weeks until 12 weeks of age, then monthly until 6 months of age, and then every 3 to 6 months for life. If your puppy is around children we do recommend worming every 3 months. Drontal Plus is the only wormer on the market that kills all types of worms.

Flea and Tick Prevention

There are several products on the market at present. Frontline Spray is suitable for puppies under 8 weeks of age, and after this Frontline Spot-on can be used. If you wish to discuss any other products please ask any member of staff and they will be happy to advise you.

Neutering

We strongly recommend neutering your pet

Male dogs can be castrated from 6 months of age. This is a simple procedure that can help reduce behavioral problems, and will prevent testicular cancers and all prostate problems.

Female dogs can be speyed from 6 months of age before their first season. This will prevent the occurence of mammary cancers and pyometras - a life threatening illness - in later life.
