Kitten Information Sheet

Vaccination

We vaccinate cats against Cat Flu, enteritis and Leukaemia. The vaccinations are given as a course at 9 & 12 weeks of age. After this only an annual booster is required.

More information on vaccination can be found at:

Worming

Worm every two weeks until 12 weeks of age with Panacur granules and after this every 3 to 6 months with Drontal Cat. This is the only wormer on the market to kill all types of worms. We can offer you a free appointment to administer the tablet to your cat, charging only for the tablet. An extremely effective spot-on wormer is now available for cats.

Flea Prevention

There are several products on the market at present. Frontline Spray is suitable for kittens under 12 weeks of age and after this Frontline Spot-on can be used. If you wish to discuss any other products please ask any member of staff and they will be happy to advise you.

Neutering

We strongly recommend neutering your pet

Male cats can be castrated from 6 months of age. An uncastrated cat is much more likely to stray, be involved in a car accident and contract feline leukemia and AIDs virus.

Female cats can be speyed from 6 months. This will prevent unwanted kittens.
